Artist Statement
My artistic practice explores the temporal implications surrounding different physical spaces. These spaces vary in location and context, but all become vessels for trace and memory; evoking the viewer’s voyeuristic tendencies as well as their imagination. Allowing imagination to animate a space creates a venue for us to be honest about our perception of a specific place and its significance. The Language of Birds explores the absurd, transience, surface, and human intervention. The sculptures I create reconsider the ordinary by defamiliarizing the everyday.
