Artist Statement
Saudade is an architectural sculpture integrating aesthetic properties from some of the most influential infrastructure the artist has been inside of in places such as: Mexico, Spain, Greece, Italy, and the United States.
The spacial and interactive experience of this work is meant to evoke a feeling of a nostalgic longing to be near again to something or someone that is distant by space, time, and perspective or that has been loved and then lost. Specifically, the love that remains for something beautiful that is now gone. Demanding ones vulnerability in holding pain and pleasure simultaneously and charging one with gratitude that such loveliness once graced their life.
