Artist Statement
Vortex is a ghostly vertical abstract figure, resembling the shape of a mountain.
It’s an antenna to the supernatural, and to the depths of our minds.
A door for others to enter, and for us to travel away.
From one plane to another, the Vortex acts as a channel.
In my practice, I work with formlessness, in order to expose the material in a raw naked way: matter becomes body.
The works originate from basic shapes, roughly manipulated, so that their angles and edges disappear. The initial geometry is lost in an organic deformity.
In a wide range of formats and sizes, my sculptures highligh process, through tactile marks, scratches, and object-based prints. I think of my sculptures as documentations of process and action.
