Artist Statement:
Playstation is a rough approximation of fantastical playscapes Bridget has imagined, inspired by rafts, hideaways, and forts. In her opinion, there are too few imaginative, thought-provoking, and interesting places in the world, and her artistic intent is to fill this gap with sculptures that help remedy this shortage. Bridget considers place belonging, abject and action to be closely tied and Playstation highlights those connections by creating nooks, hiding places, hand and footholds where climbers can make the sculpture their own. Though Playstation is thoroughly adored by children, Bridget invites anyone and everyone to abandon seriousness and responsibility, if only for a moment, and play.
